Movie Review:The plot that revolves around the plight of a prostitute. Goan girl Julie (Dhupia) turns to the world's oldest profession because her first boyfriend deserted her, and her second boyfriend (Sanjay Kapoor) wanted to be her pimp so he could live on her earnings.

Therefore Julie after firstly taking people at face value and then proceeding to interfere in others business finds herself isolated and decides to pimp for herself. During the course of events Julie is now a mahaan hasti's mystery girl who he (Priyanshu Chatterjee) wants to marry, but she has made the decision to do an expose of her story to the world through India's first live television program about a prostitute Viewers will not find this twist in the plot to disconcerting while the skin flix is on.

The movie's script though does contain some absolutely precious quotes: early on in the film Julie is told to stay the night with a client and her reply to her boyfriend pimp is; "Tum pooja ke phool arthi par, aur arthi ke phool birthday par present karte ho". You gift prayer flowers on a funeral and funeral flowers at a birthday." Make what you will of that. How about this erotic chat up line guaranteed to raise passions; "Aag mere badan mein lagi hai, aur biscuit tum kha rahe ho" My body is on fire, and you're the one eating biscuits? As a prelude to love what about the crumbs

On the positive side the film does contain some amusing and entertaining moments whether these are pieces of unintentional hilarity I don't know. But one thing that is certain Ms. Dhupia's play's the role with an inordinately high amount true sincerity, despite having to work with a difficult script, and well directed by Deepak Shivdasani

In amongst the current crop of this style of movie Julie is clearly the most accomplished film out, well worth watching as this one does have real feel.
